Lodge Kiama supports the Riding for the Disabled

The Riding for the Disabled has just received a donation of $12,000 from Lodge Kiama with the assistance of Masonicare. The presentation took place at a BBQ for brethren, volunteers and families also provided by the lodge for the Riding for the Disabled centre at Jerrara, Jamberoo.

The RDA said it was the largest donation they had ever received and would be put to good use to pay for rising food costs and vet bills. It would help provide horse related activities to enrich the lives of local children and adults with disabilities.

The cheque was presented by W Bro Bill Gillespie and RW Bro Brian Willis, the Regional Masonicare Manager. The Worshipful Master of Lodge Kiama and Masonicare Caring Officer, W Bro Peter Stemp, said that the Lodge will continue to support the RDA centre for the next year as well:

"The Centre will also use our support to purchase new track, build a new ramp for wheelchair bound disabled children to mount their horse and look after some of the older horses."
